What Aloe Beauty can do for you and your teens

As any mother can tell you, teen skin can vary from very dry to very oily.

Michele McCulloch started Aloe Beauty as she knew first hand there was a gap in the market. “With a daughter approaching her teens and having suffered from dry and sensitive skin I was at a loss as to what to use on her skin. I began to search the market for teen appropriate products and much to my surprise, I really didn’t find anything that was targeted at this market.”

With a background in business and further education in Clinical Aromatherapy, Michelle developed an awareness of the challenges that ongoing chemical exposure could have and as the skin is the largest organ in our body, it was key to begin here.  The Aloe Beauty products are designed to leave the skin feeling clean, nourished and uplifted. They are packaged in 100ml tubes, making them easy to use on the go or at home.

Aloe Vera has been used in skin care products for many years. It was also used by Cleopatra and Christopher Columbus and is best known for its soothing properties. It is often used in the case of sun burn, skin abrasions, eczema, and other skin allergies. It is also packed with vitamins and minerals, including Vitamins A, C, E and magnesium to name a few, making it ideal for those breakouts and after sun care.

We added Lemon Oil to the product for its astringent qualities and its ability to support the cleansing cycle and oiliness of the skin.  Orange oil was also added as it was recognised for its uplifting qualities.  I’d like to say no more cranky teen days, however, based upon my research, I’d like to think the calming qualities of Lavender both topically for the skin and aromatically for the senses, can help in this area.

For mums there’s a win too! “ I use these products because I love the fact that they don’t leave my skin feeling dry.”

Part of the business model is offering  the Aloe Beauty  products as a fundraiser. If you are a member of a school or a club and looking for a time saving, convenient fundraiser then be sure to let Michelle know – she is more than happy to help. Michele@aloebeauty.com

As boys and girls differ, we also have a range for the boys.

The boy’s products have a slightly different formulation.  Lime was used in place of Orange Oil. Research around lime oil shows it supports skin conditions such as acne and Neem oil was also included in the boy’s body wash.  Neem Oil is well known in Ancient Ayurveda writings and was used often used to treat skin conditions and inflammations.

These are just a few of the key ingredients included in the products, there are many more and all have been considered and researched for their best fit.  The one that really isn’t written on the label is the love of the journey that these products have taken me on.  Last year a chance meeting with an individual at the Cannes Lion Innovation Festival saw me being gifted with some special “recipes” which I’m looking forward to working on and delivering soon.

More recently we were included in the 2017 Hollywood Swag Bag Honouring Teen Choice Awards in LA.

Education Matters:

An education in Essential Oils has given me the ability to know the difference between the various quality of oils on the market and to know the properties, benefits and appropriateness of each.
